Do I have to insure my home?
Although we don’t insist that you arrange your property insurance through the Cheshire, it is a condition of all Cheshire mortgages that suitable buildings insurance cover is in force on or before completion. Owning your own home is one of the biggest financial commitments you can make. We believe it is vitally important to protect your investment.
What is ‘Select’ Home Insurance?
Select is a policy which can be tailored to meet your needs. Whether you want to cover your buildings, your contents or combine the two, Select can provide comprehensive protection with the added benefit that you only pay for the cover that you actually need. Do I have to have a mortgage with the Cheshire to apply for Select Home Insurance?
No – All homeowners and tenants can apply for Select.
Are there any discounts available with the Select Home Insurance policy?
Yes, a range of discounts may be applicable, for example:-

Will I be charged any interest on my insurance premiums?
No – with Select you can pay for your policy either annually or by monthly instalments at no extra cost. Monthly instalments can only be paid to Royal & Sun Alliance by Direct Debit.
Who do I contact if I need to make a claim?
Please telephone the Royal and Sun Alliance claims line on the telephone number shown on your policy schedule. Lines are open 8.00am to 8.00pm Monday to Friday and 9.00am to 1.00pm Saturday.
